Week 11
In phonics this week we have learnt some new digraphs. sh, ch and th. These are all difficult sounds to learn so do practise them at home. The children are doing really well learning their tricky words and some more will be coming home very soon!
We are busy practising songs for our nativity and the shepherds and sheep all have a line to learn along with their poem. These went home in book bags for you to help your child with. In RE this week we carefully unwrapped our nativity scene for the classroom and spoke about all the different characters within the Christmas story.
In literacy we read the Hindu story of Rama and Sita and learnt about the importance of the divas in lighting their way home. The children have made very pretty divas in their art sessions which you can use for Christmas.
Learning Journeys have been sent home today for you to add any photograhs, WOWs, drawings or writing to. They need to be back in school by Monday 4th December at the very latest. I'm sorry this is not very long but hopefully you will get the chance to at least look through the Learning Journey with your child.
During our natural learning afternoon the children helped to build shelters which was great fun!
