Week 10
We have been reading and writing about The Great Fire of London this week and the children have been formulating and answering questions. They have also come up with a list of useful topic words some of which will be used in next weeks spellings for year 2. This is all in preparation for our trip to Shire Hall next Tuesday when we will be comparing the fire in London to the fires in Dorchester.
In maths year 2 have been investigating weighing while year 1 have been working on number and place value.
We have now cast the nativity and as you will have seen, all the children have a few lines to learn. Please could you read these through with your children and help them to learn their lines. Rehearsals will start in earnest next week and although I don't expect all the children to remember their words yet, it does help if they are familiar with them. I will also be sending out costume requirements for the children very soon.
We also need small boxes for our next DT project. If you have any cardboard boxes, smaller than a shoe box, please could you send them in.
The Great Fire of London pictures are now hanging in the classroom and look fantastic. Great work from everyone!
