Week 10

This week we have been reading the story of Stone Soup and rewritten it in our own words. In maths we have been doing fractions in year 2 and  weighing in year 1.

We had a lovely afternoon on Monday digging over our veg bed and planting lots of seeds. The children got stuck in and we have planted potatoes, tomatos, lillies and peas.  Fingers crossed they will start to grow as the weather warms up. Mrs Joy also visited us to do some music.

In DT we looked at lots of different packaging from France and talked about what they were for, what made them interesting and whether we would want to buy them.  The children talked lots about this and have begun designing their own packaging for a new cheese.

It has been a difficult week in many ways with news and advice around COVID -19 changing daily. The children have been fantastic as always and we have answered any questions they have asked us as reassuringly and appropriately as possible.  With schools shutting to all but key workers as from Monday, please keep an eye on our school website and blog. We will be posting work and ideas for learning under the class blogs. More information will follow very shortly.

Keep yourselves safe and healthy.
