WEEK 11
Thank you to those of you that were able to join us for our Mother's Day Service on Friday and hope that you enjoyed the children's poem. They were absolutely amazing, learning the poem after only three quick practises and suggested the actions that they would like to go with the words themselves. The children took lots of care and attention to make their Mother's Day card, we hope that you like them!
Maths this week we been recapping upon 3D shape names and characteristics. We talked about the 2D shapes that each shape has and used mathematical language to describe them. We had a special treat at the end of the week when we matched the shapes to objects in our classroom and found a bar of chocolate that was the same shape as a triangular prism, of course we had to try a piece, as the individual pieces looked like pyramids.
In literacy the children have used non-fiction books and dinosaur fact cards, to find out information about their chosen dinosaurs diet. The children found the information and then we talked about whether they were herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. They then recorded their findings and drew a picture to illustrate their work.
Please ensure that the children have sun cream applied before they arrive at school and have sun hats every day, now that the stronger sunshine has arrived.
We look forward to seeing you all at the Seahorse Exposure on Thursday, at 2.30pm
