'A small school with a big heart'

Week 1

After a very strange few months it really is lovely to see all of the children back in school, ready for the challenges and fun of the coming year. As well as welcoming our Year 1s into Dolphins we are also welcoming two new children into our class, one in Year 1 and one in Year 2.  The children are settling in well and getting used to the new routines and rhythms of school, are getting used to the one way systems as well as regular handwashing.

This week we have introduced our new topic - Ship Ahoy!  - and have been playing games outside to get used to certain ship terminology e.g. port, starboard, bow, stern as well as learning about rigging, scrubbing the decks and crows nests. The children have also engaged in maths lessons and PE.

Thank you to all of you who have sent the children in looking smart in their new uniforms which are all labelled. Please do check these labels regularly as they do sometimes fall out!
