Recycling Trip 16th April
On Thursday we began our learning for the topic Recycling and the Environment by visiting a Landfill Site and the Recycling Centre at Wareham. The children learned how waste for landfill is disposed of, watching several trucks emptying. We discussed the effects on the environment and the children met Jess, a peregrine falcon, who helps to keep the gulls and crows off the rubbish. At the recycling centre, the children learned how long different types of rubbish can take to degrade in a landfill site, made mini-composters and looked at all the recyclng facilities at the centre.
