Week 9 - Eco Day

Our Non-Fiction story of the week was What a Waste: Rubbish, Recycling & Protecting Our Planet.  This week we sang lots of number songs such as One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Ten Green Bottles, 5 Currant Buns etc.  We used small wooden 2D shapes to make pictures.  Using recycled cardboard, we made pictures of Earth using paint and hold punched circles.  We looked at a picture of various letters and children were asked to stand on the given sound which were written on the playground in chalk.

Wednesday was Eco Day, the children (and adults) really enjoyed all of the activities that they took part in which included - Eco Cubes, Sewing, Buh Hotels, Shelter Building, Scavenger Hunts, Eco Art (inspired by Andy Goldsworthy), clay work, fitness and cooking.  At the end of the day we all attended a special Eco Day assembly and looked at photographs taken throughout the day.  All photo's can be seen on the Eco School Blog.
