Week 2 - DT and Music
We have really enjoyed seeing the children's shields coming into school. They have worked really hard at home and hopefully had lots of fun putting their designs into practice. Please do bring any more shields in next week if you haven't quite finished them yet, or send in a photograph. In science this week we had a lesson on materials and discussed the best materials to make armour from and why.
We are learning about percussion instruments in music, learning some songs and keeping a steady beat as we sing. The children are also clapping and playing back rythms and learning how to play quietly and loudly.
In maths year 2s have continued to learn about length and height and have started to problem solve, while the year 1s have started to learn about making equal groups as a start to their topic on multiplication and division.
Next Monday is a bank holiday so enjoy the extra long weekend. Fingers crossed the sun will shine!
