Week 4 - Art

Over the last couple of weeks the children have created a sunset picture with an outlined animal. They have used yellow, orange and red to create the background, then, when that was dry, they painted on the ground and a tree before adding a cut out silhouette of an African animal. They enjoyed making these and it used their skills of drawing, cutting and painting. They are now moving on to looking at patterns.

In literacy we read Why Chameleon Changes Colour and the children created character descriptions for the chameleon.  We have also been learning about question sentences and exclamation sentences.

Next Friday will be our harvest festival so the we are also learning a poem by heart to recite at this event.

During forest school, the children made a wormery which is now in our classroom so we can see how they mix the soil, sand and leaves to create a lovely compost.
