Week 9 - RE
Our main event this week has been our Eco Day on Wednesday. The children all had a fabulous time carrying out their different activities and the cooperation and consideration shown by the children as they worked alongside children from other classes was amazing. It was a super day and the sun shone. All the photographs are on the Eco School blog. (Go to children and scroll down to Eco Schools).
In literacy this week the children have written a poem based on Pie Corbetts, Evidence of dragons. They have created some wonderful work about what clues to look out for if you go tracking dragons.
In RE we are learning about the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah and the children have been learning the story behind the event and learning about how it is celebrated. One of the games families and friends play together is the dreidel game and the children all had a go at making a dreidel and playing the game. It did get quite competitive even though they were only playing or multilink!
On Friday we got to meet the author Laura James, virtually as part of the DASP literacy festival. We have been reading her book News Hounds, the Puppy Problem in class together which the children have really enjoyed.
