This week we have been out & about in the school grounds & Wildlife Garden to search for & take pictures of minibeasts. The children found lots of wriggly worms hiding under all of the logs, the odd snail & some woodlice. The photographs were then printed for the children so that they could then write about the minibeasts in their literacy activity. The were able to talk about what they had found, where, what they looked like, what they were doing & how they moved.
The children have also drawn & painted their favourite minibeasts for our topic board. They were able to look at pictures & sketch all of the different parts of their chosen minibeasts, then paint them using appropriate colours. Later in the week the children used the desktop computers to draw the same minibeast, using a simple painting programme.
