This week in our topic work we learnt about 'Punch and Judy' shows and how the story has been around for a very long time and remains a great seaside tradition. The children made their own puppets and then used these to act out the story in groups. It was great fun!
The children had a fun afternoon on Thursday with a range of seaside activities including water play, puppet shows, seaside painting, colouring and computer work.
We have come to the end of our 'Seaside' topic and have really enjoyed it. Over the last 7 weeks the children have produced some wonderful art work using clay, paints, collage and design. Literacy was based around the book 'The Rainbow Fish' and the children enjoyed writing their own stories about a sea creature. They also wrote lot's of exciting facts about sharks! In maths we have concentrated on place value, addition and shape and the children have made very good progress with their learning. We look forward to our next topic which is the 'Night time'.
